Tradit Order Made
The memory of a kimono,in a pair made for you.
Made to Order
The fabric you choose, made into a pair that is yours alone.
Choose from kimono fabrics selected by Tradit, such as Nishijin-ori and Kyo-yuzen, and we craft made-to-order shoes one pair at a time, fitted to your feet. You can also bring your own kimono or obi and have a treasured piece remade into shoes.

Concept
Carrying the beauty of Japan into modern dress, out to the world
Tradit stands for “Traditional × Modern”. By bringing kimono fabrics and artisan skills handed down over generations into everyday items like sneakers and leather shoes, we build a bridge between Japan’s traditional culture and younger generations at home and abroad.
With made-to-order, you can also have a treasured kimono or obi of your own remade into shoes. A grandmother’s furisode, a coming-of-age obi, a kimono no longer worn — give cloth that has been resting a new role: to walk again.
Features
Why choose Tradit made-to-order

Fitted to your feet
We measure the length, girth and instep of both feet and adjust from the last. A comfortable pair even for those who struggle with standard sizes.

Genuine kimono fabric
Authentic kimono fabrics sourced from producing regions across Japan — Nishijin-ori, Kyo-yuzen, indigo and more. Bring your own kimono or obi if you wish.

Made by artisans
From cutting the fabric to stitching and soling, each pair is carefully finished in collaboration with shoemakers and kimono artisans in Japan.

Your design
Choose a base style of leather shoe — cap-toe, plain-toe and more — then decide together on fabric placement, thread color, sole and lining.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q.Can I order if I live far away or overseas?+
Yes. Consultations are held online, and we can send a measuring kit so you can take your own measurements. Orders from overseas are welcome — please ask.
Q.Can you make shoes from my own kimono or obi?+
Yes. After checking the type, condition and amount of fabric, we will let you know whether it can be made. Treasured pieces are handled with care from receipt to return.
